Day 19 - John Nix

Dec 15, 2022    Lead Pastor John Nix

Scrooge. The Grinch. The guy who stole Christmas. What do they all have in common? They were all missing something important during the holiday season—they were looking at the wrong things. As we get caught up in the hustle and bustle of the season, it's easy to forget what Christmas is really all about. Yes, it's a time for giving and receiving gifts, but most importantly, it's a time to celebrate the birth of our Savior.

Without Jesus, Christmas is just another day on the calendar. But when we take the time to really behold Him and what He did for us, Christmas takes on a whole new meaning—the eternal life that Jesus offers us. It's about hope, love, and joy. It's about acknowledging that we are sinners in need of a Savior and that He came to offer us forgiveness and new life.

When we keep Jesus at the center of our celebrations, everything else falls into place. The decorations, the gifts, the food—it all becomes secondary. Don't get me wrong, those things are still enjoyable, but they pale in comparison to the gift of Jesus Christ. This Christmas, take some time to look at Jesus through the eyes of faith and give thanks for His gift of eternal life.
